Mullen Lacrosse Parents,
Thank you to all players and families this past week being patient and flexible for tryout locations and times. With limited options our staff feels we made the best of our facilities. Not every school is fortunate to have a Green Room on campus and we are making the most of it.
Here is the schedule for the week for all levels, assuming the fields remain covered in snow:
Monday - 3:30 - 5:00 - Mullen Green Room - Program Dinner to follow
Tuesday - TBD
Wednesday - 6:30 - 8:00 - Mullen Green Room
Thursday - 5:00 - 6:30 - Mullen Green Room
Friday - 3:30 - 5:00 - Mullen Green Room
Next, over this past week the coaching staff has been evaluating and watching every player in our program to put together three great teams. The players all competed and pushed each other which have made our decisions difficult. Congratulations to all of them. They are building a great culture and foundation to grow upon, and should be proud of themselves.
Coach Shewchuk said it best on Saturday to the players - “whatever team you end up on, embrace your role and the challenge presented to you.” All of us as coaches can relate to what the players are going through right now. If any player has any questions on their evaluation which led to their team placement I will discuss it with them directly and in person. All they have to do is ask me. As they grow into young men, it is important that they take ownership of their own actions and sports allow them to do so.
This is by far the most difficult part of our jobs. Based on our evaluations we put together what we believe are the best teams for the program.
